The iPad, like all iOS and OSX devices has built into it a range of options that are easy to use that can quickly transform the learning experience; tailoring SEN needs to the task ahead.

Speak Selection allows text to be read back to the user.
AssistiveTouch lets you enter Multi-Touch gestures using one finger.
Zoom allows the content of your pad to be enlarged.
There is a range of options which are worth exploring with your individual
pupils in mind.
iOS- Braille Accessibility Options
The iPad can support visually impaired too. Using a bluetooth Braille keyboard gives students access to mainstream IT.

With Bluetooth and VoiceOver enabled follow the simple onscreen prompts to pair the devices. Students who are able Braillers can then interact with the iPad using audible prompts to take notes, navigate the web, read and send email etc.,
